I volunteer with a rescue group and currently have 2 energetic foster dogs as well as a very playful 2 yr. old puppy. I needed help with my three very rowdy boys, but I did not know who to call. After speaking with several trainers and behaviorists, I decided to work with Thunder. I liked that he came to our home where the dogs were most comfortable and they behaved most naturally. Each dog had his own unique set of problems and needs, so the situation was complicated. From the first visit, Thunder knew what to do to get control of the dogs' behavior. After 3 months of hard work,they are now more calm and obedient,the house is more peaceful, and our daily routine is easier. I have enjoyed learning from Thunder. We adopted Sadie from a shelter in May, and she was very docile, but not reliably housebroken, pulled on the leash, totally ignored us when we called her, and so on. We have had dogs before, and we wanted to start off right with training Sadie. Thunder came to our house, and within the 4 sessions, he showed us how to work with Sadie so that she would do what we wanted with a minimum of fuss. What a blessing! We have had other dogs who went to training centers for more than a year with little progress. Sadie excelled. Thunder is patient, calm, and explains not only what to do but why you are doing it. By the fourth class, we didn't have any misbehavior to report! I would recommend Thunder to anyone. We are looking forward to enrolling in an agility class when he gets it organized. He is really a miracle worker when it comes to showing you how to work with your dog. He has taught the "old dog" (and her "old owners") the new tricks she needed. Thank you.

Rusty, a shepard mix, had a rough start. She was found abandoned and was in pretty rough shape. Not only did she have heart worm, but she showed signs of abuse as well. At first she seemed pretty docile but as her physical ailments healed, behavior problems started to show up. She was very fearful and aggressive toward other animals. She had accepted me, but other males caused uncontrollable barking. Walking her was almost impossible because of constant pulling to get at squirrels and other animals. With Thunder's help we were able to get immediate control over the behaviors while he patiently worked her through some of her fear based issues. We got this dog with the idea of saving a dog from the needle, but things were so out of control she almost ended up that way. Thunder's understanding of dog and people behavior is the only reason Rusty is still with us today. Thunder was able to do what other trainers told us was impossible and was worth every penny.

We are the owners of a blended canine family consisting of a subborn, gentlemanly, 5 year old pug and a two year old adolescent, 50 lb canine athlete. Need I say more? Our life was chaotic until thunder came to our home and brought order and discipline to our pack.His knowledge of dog behavior coupled with his competent technique and calm personality made for the perfect blend. The individualized attention that he gave each of our dogs (and to us) set him apart from the group obedience classes we previously experienced. One of our dogs exhibited biting behavior in fearful situations which caused us great concern for the dog and for others in his life. What we feared would be a serious situation with very sad conesquences, was dealt with very effectively by Thunder. During the first training session he accurately diagnosed the problem and gave us the knowledge and techniques to totally eliminate this dangerous behavior. Within four sessions our pack is a well adjusted and happy.

We have had a Westie Rescue Dog for 1 year who was abused and difficult to work with. My husband found an ad for Thunder Ruthven with Thunder's Pack and called for training. We have had him for three weeks and have seen a huge difference with Mickey. Mickey didn't want anything to do with Thunder but after this time, he has won him over and started behavior training. We have seen a huge difference with Mickey and hopefully he will be manageable. He calms the dog and they listen to him with the patience that he has. He has had 30 years experience with dogs and it really shows. I would highly recommend having him as a trainer. Kathleen
